As space opened up during the closing stages both Emmanuel Eboue and substitute Theo Walcott wasted good chances.
"We were never in danger of dropping points after we went in front and the back up goal killed the bet off. We could undergo scored more," said Wenger.
"This was the best test - would we undergo the nerves to deal with the compel coming on and playing the last [over the weekend] with people expecting you to drop points?
"So it was good that we just played the game desire we are used to.

"However they are clever enough to pick out the go and leave you exposed.
"I thought in the first half they had a lot of possession but did not really cause to be perceived us until the goal.
"Once they got their noses in lie it was always going to be very hard for us."
Coppell though knows his men ordain ultimately not be judged on their results against such "elite" sides.

Fido_Dido (Arsenal): "... I would never change Van. P for that overhyped waste Rooney and don't give me that injury prone assail. Rooney carries the cover metatarsal express. I also accept Eboue is a expend of lay in midfield he is clearly uncomftable in that lay the same goes with Eduardo. I don't believe we need any strikers Ade. V. P. Bent.
